What is PRP?
PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. It is a treatment that uses components of your own blood: a small sample is drawn during the appointment, prepared and applied in that same visit. Because the material is yours, it is called an autologous treatment.
At MOSS, PRP is done in two ways. In PRP with microneedling, the plasma is combined with a microneedling session and aims to support skin renewal and the appearance of texture, marks and radiance. In injected PRP, the plasma is injected into the skin to support its appearance of firmness, texture and radiance.
Which of the two suits your case, in which areas and over how many sessions, is decided by the practitioner at your evaluation. We do not recommend one by chat or on this page.
Who is it for?
For adults interested in a rejuvenation option that uses material from their own body, and who prefer a gradual treatment over a one-day change.
It requires a prior evaluation. The skin consultation is free and takes about 15 minutes. If you have a health or skin condition, take any medication, or are pregnant or breastfeeding, mention it beforehand: the practitioner assesses each case and, if the treatment isn't right for you, she tells you.
If your concern is your hair, bring it up at the evaluation too. The two PRP options with a price on the menu are for the skin; for hair, the menu also has the Anti hair loss protocol, which is an IV therapy session, from $150. We do not promise a result in any case.
What is the appointment like, step by step?
The appointment starts by reviewing your skin and the goal of the session. A small sample of your blood is then drawn, the plasma is prepared and it is applied in the same visit, with microneedling or injected, depending on your plan.
In the calendar, PRP with microneedling takes 60 to 90 minutes and injected PRP takes 90 to 105, depending on the specialist. PRP is done together with the facial, so plan for up to 2 hours for the full visit. You leave with your aftercare instructions.
A $50 deposit is required to hold appointments over $100, and it goes toward your service. You can move or cancel with at least 48 hours' notice; inside that window the deposit is non-refundable.
